Lloyd Hotel launched its website. Curious what will happen. A hotel with rooms rating from 1 star to 5 stars under the Dutch Hotel Classification System. It is located in a former passengers terminal, has two restaurants and will serve as a “Cultural Embassy”. The initiators have a cultural, rather than a hotel background.

SpecialBite is a Dutch site in Dutch as well as in English[ update January 1, 2010 I can’t find the English version anmymore] with many tips about hot restaurants in The Netherlands. It offers also some guest reviews. Tips are organized by Dutch city/province.

The people from Designhotel La Bergere in Maastricht are developing St Martens Lane, probably the first Dutch non smoking hotel.

Hotel Arena in Amsterdam has reopened after a renovation. It changed from a Stay Okay into a designhotel. It added 6 designer suites and modern design furniture from Dutch designers as Piet Hein Eek, Marcel Wanders, Ineke Hans and Marleen Kaptein.
