7 Years Happy Hotelier

In June, 2004,  I started  as a co editor of the Dutch Language blog Weekendhotel  and on August 23, 2006 I aired Happy Hotelier.  I’m now truly  a Veteran Blogger with 9 years of blogging behind my belt,  aren’t I? I’m planing to continue this in the foreseeable future.

ActMonroeSevenYears
7 years Happy Hotelier also reminds me of The 7 Year Itch,

a film with Marilyn Monroe

with that famous photo over the subway grate

What_Happened_on_Twenty-third_Street,_New_York_City
Which scene , according to Wikipedia,  could have been based on

What Happened on Twenty Third Street, a short film from 1901

Actually until today I knew the photo of Marilyn, but not that it was connected to a film with this title.

By coincidence I have a recent photo of my Dear Wife in which we re enacted this scene in Milan, but no, that I won’t show you.  Ah and no the itch didn’t apply to our marriage for over 40 years now.

This association brings me to another association with 7 Year’s Itch: After 7 years of faithful marriage some men seem to feel an itch to become unfaithful to their wives:  I’m not going to be unfaithful to this blog. I’ve seen several friends closing their blogs or abandoning them, but on the other hand I’m just now in the process of editing another  interview for my 10 questions series with somebody whose blog  started in December 2005  and just started to take off really the last 12 months. I don’t believe the “Blogging is dead” theories.

The publishing has become less frequent here for several reasons, but at least will stay at the current level, 1 to 5 posts per month, and maybe more.

Stay tuned!

I would love to re enact the scene too just for fun ! Hopefully my husband won’t mind because in a recent documentary Joe Dimaggios, who was married to Marilyn during the filming of the 7 year itch was enraged at the fact that the men on the cast were looking at hius wif’s bare legs…not to say more.
